NeighborWorks Salt Lake Target Area

nhs-target-area-map NeighborWorks® Salt Lake (NWSL)  opened its doors 30 years ago with the mission to revitalize the neighborhood by building partnerships with residents, local businesses and government entities.  NWSL is a 501c3 community-based organization dedicated to providing resourses and assistance to strengthen and build neighborhoods.

NWSL provides services in the neighborhoods of Glendale, Poplar Grove, FairPark, Rose Park, Jordan Meadows, Westpointe and a portion of West Capital Hill located on the west side of Salt Lake City from 2100 South to the Salt Davis County line, and from 200 West to the Salt Lake International Airport.

Demographics for this area include a population of 55,458 with 15,197 households, a poverty rate of of 20%, with ethnic diversity at 33%, and an average income of $36,087. (Census 2000)

NWSL services are available to anyone residing in Salt Lake County; government funded programs are restricted to residents in the NWSL target neighborhoods meeting income guidelines of 80% and below area median income established by the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD).
