Foreclosure Prevention

Whether you are simply brushing up on your budgeting skills or are facing foreclosure, NWSL may be able to help in your situation. Foreclosure counseling classes are on Thursday nights from 5:30pm - 7:30 pm. We have 2 classes a month at our Salt Lake Offices and 2 classes at our Murray office. If we do not have a minimum of five individuals to attend the class we will cancel and you will be notified accordingly.  Our foreclosure prevention counselors are certified and trained in the following:

• Help explain the various foreclosure prevention options available
• Facilitate the workout agreement application process
• Help you develop a "crisis budget" to manage your unexpected life changing experiences and help get you back on track

Foreclosure is never a subject any of us want to discuss but there are options available.  It is crucial that you contact your loan servicer to first discuss your situation with them. The only people that can modify your loan terms is your lender or servicer. A HUD-approved counseling agency will not charge for their services and will help you prepare the workout agreement packet to send to your lender or servicer.

Unless you already have a sale date on your foreclosure, it is imperative that you take advantage of the guidance this workshop will provide to you. 

Be cautious of loan modification scams! Refer to the Housing and Urban Development (HUD) website www.hud.gov for a list of certified agencies or call 1-888-995-HOPE.
