POSITION TITLE: Assistant Program Coordinator – YouthWorks

COMPENSATION:

$20.00–$22.00 per hour, based on experience.

Full-time, hourly.
Monday–Thursday, 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM, on-site.
(During fall and spring semesters, program hours extend to 7:30 PM; employees may flex their schedule accordingly.)

POSITION OVERVIEW:

NeighborWorks Salt Lake is seeking a highly motivated and reliable Assistant Program Coordinator to support the daily operations of the YouthWorks program—a community-based pre-employment and leadership initiative serving youth ages 15–18.

This role plays a key support function in program logistics, youth engagement, project coordination, partner communication, and administrative tasks. The ideal candidate enjoys working with teens, thrives in a collaborative environment, and is committed to empowering young people through leadership development, employment skills, and community service.

The Assistant Program Coordinator works closely with the YouthWorks Program Coordinator to ensure effective program delivery, safe environments, consistent communication, and high-quality youth experiences.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Program Coordination & Administration

  •  Support daily YouthWorks operations, including scheduling, attendance tracking, and communication with youth and families.

  • Assist with organizing orientations, workshops, life-skills trainings, and graduation events.

  • Maintain program files, data logs, and documentation required for reporting and compliance.

  • Coordinate logistics such as transportation, supplies, equipment, and classroom/worksite readiness.

  • Provide administrative support, including answering calls, preparing materials, and managing calendars.

Youth Engagement & Mentorship

  • Build positive, supportive relationships with youth participants.

  • Model professionalism, punctuality, and accountability.

  • Assist in facilitating social skills, leadership, and workplace-readiness workshops.

  • Help reinforce program expectations, behavior standards, and safety guidelines.

Project Support & Worksite Coordination

  •  Support preparation and oversight of community service, beautification, and technical training projects.

  • Help ensure safety protocols are followed at all times.

  • Guide youth in learning basic employment and technical skills.

  • Help track project progress, collect data, and submit daily reports.

 Partnerships & Community Engagement

  •  Coordinate with community partners, workshop presenters, and guest instructors.

  • Represent YouthWorks professionally at schools, community events, and partner meetings.

  • Assist in marketing, outreach, and recruitment activities.

 Data, Reporting & Evaluation

  •  Support the collection of attendance, satisfaction surveys, pre/post assessments, and program outcomes.

  • Assist the Program Coordinator in compiling reports for grants, internal review, and the YouthWorks Steering Committee.

  • Maintain organized and accurate records in program databases (such as Salesforce or Asana).

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Experience working with youth ages 14–18, preferably in education, youth development, social services, or community programs.

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and facilitation skills.

  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and create an inclusive environment.

  • Highly organized, reliable, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.

  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Asana or Salesforce preferred.

  • Ability to mentor youth, set appropriate boundaries, and model leadership.

  • Bilingual English/Spanish highly desirable.

  • Experience in community engagement, project support, or workshop facilitation is a plus.

SCHEDULE

Full-time, Monday–Thursday, 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM
During fall and spring semesters, the program runs until 7:30 PM, and employees may flex their hours to maintain a 40-hour work week.

Some evenings or community events may require occasional flexibility.
